Tunku Abdul Rahman College recently held its first Alumni Treasure Hunt event organised by the College School of Arts and Science (SAS) Alumni Federation. The event brought staff, alumni and families together on 12 March, 2011.
Divided into four people per group, 23 treasure hunting groups took a 7-hour route by car from the TAR College Kuala Lumpur main campus to the branch campus in Kampar, Perak. Throughout their journey, they had to find treasures and answers to questions and puzzles they were given before the race.
Tasks such as making nine nails stand on one nail were mind boggling and finding the correct treasures required wit and common sense. Despite the challenges faced, the alumni showed no signs of slowing down as they competed with high spirits.
The principal of TAR College, Dr Tan Chik Heok, who was also participated in the hunt with his own family, expressed much joy of seeing everyone gathered together and hopes to see more of such activities in the future. In the end, Team We R One went home with the grand prize of RM 2000.
Through this event, it was evident that TARCians (as TAR College students and alumni fondly call themselves) who participated in the alumni treasure hunt were a fine example of true sportsmanship.
