Reflecting the strong partnership between Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TAR College) and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), both TAR College and LJMU hosted the first ever “Liverpool Day” on 21 October, where students got a taste of the life abroad with their event, aptly themed, “If you love life, you‘ll love Liverpool”.
Through this partnership, established since 2002, TAR College advanced diplomas are recognised internationally and offer students the opportunity to continue their studies in LJMU via a one semester top-up summer programme. TAR College advanced diploma students therefore have valued pathway to achieve a prestigious Bachelor Honours degree from LJMU.
Students participated in informative talks, learnt more about Liverpool city via displays and even won prizes like an iPod Shuffle and Liverpool football jerseys competing in a PS3 football computer game. The main KL campus’s College Hall was truly buzzing with the atmosphere of Liverpool and LJMU.
Noting the success of the event, Mr Jeffery Soong, the Regional Director of LJMU, said that LJMU looks forward to expanding its growing partnership with TAR College via more joint projects in the future. He also added that LJMU academicians thoroughly enjoy engaging with TARCians, as the students fondly call themselves, as they are often found to be hardworking, bright and disciplined students.
