It was certainly a double celebration for Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TAR College) in the industry competition as two of its Advanced Diploma in Science students clinched the Champion and 1st Runner–up award in the prestigious Cisco NetRiders Challenge Malaysia 2010. TAR College had also won the Best Cisco Academy 2010 Award.
This annual competition (open to students who have taken or currently taking the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) 3.1, CCNA Exploration, or CCNA Discovery course in the past twelve months) aims to showcase the students’ talents in the networking field and serves as a platform for instructors to measure their students’ competencies level. Only then are they eligible to participate in the competition.
“It feels awesome to be the champion… the competition exposed me to the various challenges. Hard work, perseverance and persistence helped me to succeed,” said a beaming Lee Yeong Hui. The first runner-up, Lim Woo Tong enthused that he is proud to represent the College in the competition and valued the priceless experience.
Both winners attributed their wins to the excellent guidance of the networking lecturers and seniors from the School of Arts and Science of the College.
Both winners have been selected from 244 contestants to represent Malaysia and compete in the International Cisco NetRiders Challenge APAC 2010 with the Grand prize of a 5 –day fully paid study trip to the Cisco headquarters in San Jose, USA.
