Leveraging on its eminence in producing quality accountants, TAR College certainly plays an important role in contributing to Malaysia’s aspiration of becoming the hub for accountancy education in the region. The College has carved a strong niche in the professional accountancy education by providing affordable education rates, high-quality broad-based curriculum, excellent teaching and learning.

Recently, Dr Tan Chik Heok, Principal of TAR College was invited to be a panelist speaker at the first ACCA National Education Forum 2010 in Kuala Lumpur. With the theme “The Way Forward: Developing Malaysia as an Accountancy Education Hub”, the forum brought educationists and employers together to deliberate and exchange views on the session’s topic of “Developing Professional Accountants: Bridging the gaps between academia and business.”

At the forum, Dr Tan emphasized the importance of providing students with a holistic education that is complete, from the participation in clubs and societies right up to industrial internship opportunities for students. Other issues brought up during the forum were the key factors for the success of an accountant at the workplace such as, the capacity to multi-task, communication skills, a positive attitude and a passion for excellence.

TAR College, as a representative at the forum is a Gold Approved Learning Partner and is the only institution outside the UK and Ireland to be accorded the special privilege to run the ACCA Internally Assessed programme.
