Mr Chandra Mohan said that the Study Grant is part of CIMA’s contribution towards the welfare of deserving students and to encourage them to excel in their studies. Besides that, the College also received from CIMA donation of Management Accounting book vouchers worth RM2,000.
“We are proud that TAR College has over the years produced graduates of calibre who are now serving in various professions,' he added.
Dr Tan also thanked CIMA for its continuous support through providing financial assistance to deserving TAR College students. The College started receiving the Grant back in year 2003 and to date 14 recipients have benefited from it.
“I am really happy and thankful for this grant. It is like a windfall for me and it would definitely help ease my financial burden, said Bee Sim, one of the recipients.
“After I have completed my CIMA qualification, I would like to work in multinational organizations as I believe that such experience can help me to widen my prospects on the global business environment,” she added.
The other recipient Soo Qi said that she was indeed speechless when she knew that she has been selected as one of the recipients of this grant. “I had been praying and hoping that I would get it. You couldn’t imagine how glad I am to hear the news!” she exclaimed.
“I have chosen CIMA because the qualification provides more relevance in the corporate world as it gives us an outlook of both financial and non financial factors that affect a business as a whole. We are trained to integrate them together and consider the consequences of management decisions. Put succinctly, it prepares us with the necessary knowledge and skills a corporate leader has to possess,” added Soo Qi. |
