| TAR College winning streak in NetRiders Challenge Malaysia 2009 |

Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TAR College) students proved their worth by emerging as runner up winners in the NetRiders Challenge Malaysia 2009, the 4th Cisco Networking Skills Competition organized by Cisco Malaysia Academy Council. The competition was held at University Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) on 28 March 2009.
Competing against students from Multimedia Univerisity (MMU), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and University Malaysia Pahang, TAR College students Lee Yeong Hui, Pan Yong Wei and Fow Chee Kang won the first runner-up for the Networking Overall Finals category. The other teammates comprising Lim Woo Tong, Seng Choon Song and Lim Ke Lin were runner-ups in the Degree Packet Tracer Competition and Lee Yeong Hui was the first runner-up for the Networking Theory Exam.

The competition, conducted on annual basis is to gauge students’ learning standard in understanding and applying networking theory and practical.
Jessie Teoh, TAR College lecturer who is also one of the instructors for the participating team added that TAR College participants have improved much during the competition. “They were very motivated and have put in a lot of effort to acquire extra information for the competition,” said Jessie.

Securing winning places in the competition for the third consecutive years reflected well on the students’ knowledge and the consistent high training standard provided by the College which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
TAR College student Seng Choon Song enthused “I was very glad that I was selected as one of the candidates to represent TAR College for the NetRiders Challenge Malaysia 2009. The training provided was very good and the College has reserved one of the Cisco labs for our training session. With the facility, we can familiarize ourselves with the equipment rather than practicing with packet tracer.” Teammate Lim Woo Tong added that he has learned more about Cisco and networking knowledge during the competition, which was very helpful for his future career prospects. |
