TAR College – Producing Employment-Ready Graduates

As a premier institution of higher learning in Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TAR College) is dedicated to provide students with a solid foundation for the pursuit of career advancement and life-long learning. The College takes cognizance of the market scenario that is ever-evolving and strives to support students and graduates in their pursuit of career goals. The College offers job placement services that help them in exploration and decision making in their search for a career. Students and graduates receive assistance in educating themselves about the many career options that are available in the job market so that they will be able to make informed decisions for their career pathways.

The College constantly strengthens its linkages with business and industry to provide students and graduates with the opportunities to enhance their career prospects. As part of the job placement services, the TAR College Career Fair that is held annually serves as a platform to provide prospective employers from various industries with the opportunity to source for employees as well as to create awareness of job opportunities among TAR College students. Students and graduates are able to connect with employers through information sessions, on-campus interviews and on-campus recruiting events, which offer ample opportunities for internships or employment in the corporate sector and various industries.

During the week-long event, 24 sessions of career talks were delivered by prominent speakers from the industries and professional bodies covering topics such as job opportunities in various industries, business etiquette, resume writing, grooming for corporate world and preparation for attending interviews. In the same event, the College also launched the Student Job Placement Services (SJPS). This is an online service that provides TAR College students and graduates with access to the database of potential employers for recruitment and internship purposes. The 2006 TAR College Career Fair has attracted more than 6,000 students and celebrated the largest number of participating companies since it started five years ago. This shows that TAR College graduates have garnered great reputation and are highly valued by employers of various industries.

With such a great testimony to the quality education it provides, it is no surprise that TAR College has always been the preferred destination for many students upon graduating from secondary school. TAR College will be having Open Day at all its campuses from 2nd to 4th and 9th to 18th March 2007. Application forms for the May intake are now available at all campuses as well as online.
