TAR College signed an MoU on 10 November 2009 with IME Trading Sdn Bhd (IME) to formalize a cooperative partnership in the areas of education, engineering and project management in conjunction to the set up of the College new research centre called Advanced Engineering Research Centre (AERC).

In November this year, a delegation from TAR College, lead by Dr Ng Swee Chin, head of the School of Arts and Science visited the Campbell University Buies Creek campus.

The 9th TAR College Career Fair has attracted the participation of 42 companies and offered ample opportunities for employment and internships.

The ICT Showcase 2009 organized by the School of Arts and Science, which was bigger and better compared to the previous years, exposed students to the latest technologies through various competitions, exhibitions and exciting games.

TAR College signs an MoU with NCL Solutions to offer the SuSE Linux Evangelist Linkage and Collaboration (SLICE) to provide hands-on training for ICT students.

The TAR College Promote English Campaign was held by the Extra-Mural Studies Department during the Freshie Orientation Week with the aim of enhancing the students’ English Language skills.

TAR College Advanced Diploma in Mass Communication (Public Relations) Year 1 and Advertising Year 2 students organised an environmental conservation event themed S.O.S EARTH in TAR College KL Main Campus. The event aimed to create awareness and a sense of urgency among young Malaysians about protecting the earth, its life and natural environment.

TAR College held its Scholarship Presentation Ceremony at the KL Main Campus College Hall, which was attended by more than a 1,000 scholars. The scholarships presented were TAR College Merit Scholarship, the TAR College–Star Education Fund Scholarship and the TAR College–Nanyang Tertiary Education Fund Scholarship.

A launching ceremony of the Tun Tan Siew Sin Book Loan Scheme, made possible through the contribution of RM75,000 from Madam Tan Siok Choo, the daughter of the late Tun Tan was held in the Library.

A total of 252 Business Management and Business Administration students from School of Business Studies (SBS) attended the annual TARC-MAICSA Student Convention which was held at the TAR College KL Main Campus.

TAR College Sports and Exercise Science students organized a two-day campaign to promoting health fitness and disease prevention.

A batch of about 270 students graduated from the TAR College – Sheffield Hallam University collaborative programme during the recent Graduation Ceremony held at Shangri la Hotel. In the same weekend, Councillor Paul Scriven of Sheffield City Council and John Palmer, Director of Corporate Communications of Sheffield Hallam University also conducted a special talk entitled “Sheffield as the destination for tertiary education” during the College Open Day.

Campbell University has recently granted an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree to YB Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Ting, Council Chairman of TAR College in recognition of his dedicated services in the field of education.
