TARC students made a clean sweep in 1Malaysia Public Speaking Competition |

TAR College is very proud that its students have once again bagged the top three titles in 1Malaysia Public Speaking Competition, Federal Territory (Kuala Lumpur) level for non Malay category, held on 30th April 2011. With the theme “Gagasan 1Malaysia: Wadah Perpaduan Nasional”, the competition aimed to improve the skill of mastering the national language – Bahasa Malaysia, as well as to instill the spirit of unity among the multiracial society.
Lim Teck Yu from the School of Technology (SOT) garnered the championship title with his eloquent performance entitled “Bersatu Teguh, Bercerai Roboh”. The other two TARC students named Suriadeva a/l Vannimuthu from the School of Pre-Univesity Studies (SPUS) and Chen Kim Mun from the School of Business Studies (SBS), won the first runner-up and second runner-up titles respectively.

Prof. Dr. Ong Seng Huat from Universiti Malaya visited the College as the External Examiner for Mathematics & Statistics - for the Advanced Diploma cum Bachelor of Science programme at the School of Arts and Science.

TAR College welcomes the Ambassador from Afghanistan |

H.E. Ambassador Abdul Samad SAMAD, Ambassador of Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan – Malaysia visited the College to discuss on education opportunities for Afghanistan students. TAR College has opened its doors to international students this year.

TAR College Organizes Student Placement Day for Further Study Opportunities |

To give students a competitive edge in the increasingly globalised working environment, Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TAR College),
a premier institution of higher learning, held a Student Placement Day at KL Main Campus.
The one-day event, which offered students advice in finding suitable options to further studies overseas, saw 520 visitors and the
participation of 23 overseas universities and local institutions.

TAR College signs MoU with National Instruments, gaining RM1.8 million software sponsorship |
| |
Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TAR College) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Instruments(NI), garnering
RM 1.8 million worth of sponsorship in NI’s Labview software. The MoU signing ceremony took place in the TAR College KL Main Campus on
15 April, 2011.
This partnership will also work towards building platforms for TAR College students and staff, specifically from the School of
Arts & Science (SAS), and the experts of NI to mutually share the latest technologies and experiences in virtual instrumentation
applications for test, control and design areas through collaborations in research & development, workshops, seminars, training sessions
and projects.

SAS launches pioneer Metaverse laboratory, signs MoU with Innotech 360 |

TAR College launched the pioneer Metaverse laboratory in Malaysia to focus on the research & development of interactive virtual 3D
online environment.
In conjunction with the launch, TAR College also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)with pioneer and cutting edge partner,
Innotech 360 Sdn Bhd to collaborate on Metaverse research and development projects.

TARC wins 1st runner-up in the prestigious Cisco Netriders 2011 Skills Challenge |
| |
TAR College team of students did the College proud by clinching not only the 1st runner –up position but also sweeping 6 out of the Top 10 positions in the prestigious Cisco Netriders Skills Challenge 2011. TARC maintains its winning streak in the top ten positions for the 4th consecutive year of the said competition; a testament to its excellence in learning and teaching.
Mr. Lim Yu Jie (Final Year Advanced Diploma in IT student from the School of Arts and Science) will also be in “Team Malaysia” to represent the country in the Asia Pacific competition to be held in October 2011.
