The scholarships presented were TAR College Merit Scholarship, the TAR College - Star Education Fund Scholarship and the TAR College - Nanyang Tertiary Education Fund Scholarship.

TAR College is indeed proud of these students and during the ceremony, Michelle Pang En Yee, a student from the Advanced Diploma in Science (Chemistry & Biology) said that, “My family’s financial burden had lessened because of the scholarship given and I enjoy learning at TAR College because the lecturers are helpful, hardworking and generous in imparting knowledge.”

Tilaganathan Naidu A/L A Subramanian of the A-Level programme who is from a single-parent family said: “The moment I received the scholarship, I felt that it was a ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. I used to work every weekend to get enough money to support myself, but ever since TAR College offered me a scholarship plus a student loan, I now spend my holidays and weekends studying.”

This Scholarship Ceremony is even more significant as it coincides with the College 40th Anniversary, reconnecting to the College core value of providing financial support for further education to the needy and deserving students in this country. In this year alone, 2,101 students were awarded scholarships from the College worth RM 6.3 million.  Out of this number, 1,237 are new scholars who have just enrolled in the new intake.

TAR College also offers other forms of financial assistance, such as the 20 interest-free student loan funds.
