TAR College SBS Students Shine in Intervarsity Challenges
 

Procter & Gamble (P&G) Business Challenge 2008 – 7th to 9th July 2008

Tang Kai Shing, an Advanced Diploma student in Commerce (Financial Accounting) in TAR College, was among those who were shortlisted as one of the 19 challengers to participate in the Business Challenge. Her team won the prize for the ‘Most Happening Team’.  The challenge included case studies whereby the teams had to plan the launching of a new product, to write a marketing proposal and to design a marketing strategy within a given budget.

CIMA Management Accounting Business Challenge 2008 – 23 August 2008

Team Unify from TAR College emerged as the 1st runner-up in this competition. A total of 24 teams took part in the CIMA Management Accounting Business Challenge 2008.  The finals were held at the UEM Academy, Petaling Jaya.  Out of the 4 teams that entered the finals, two were from TAR College (Team Unify and Team Phoenix).  The other two finalists were from Monash University and UTAR.

PNB Investment Quiz  2008  – 25th and 26th August 2008

Three of our Advanced Diploma in Business Studies (Finance & Investment) students made us very proud by emerging as second runners-up after putting up a stiff competition against 57 other teams from 22 public and private institutions of higher learning.  The team comprised final year students, Gan Ee Yiing, Cha Yeh Lin and Tan Pei Boon.  They walked away with individual trophies and a cash prize of RM 3,000.

Citibank-UM Case Study Challenge 2008 – 28th and 29th August 2008

TAR College has once again made a mark in this competition having continually won prizes in the challenge for three consecutive years. The College finalists who called themselves ‘Make a Difference (M.A.D.)’ emerged as the 1st runners-up of the competition. The team comprised of 4 members who were from the Advanced Diploma of Business Studies. This annual Challenge encouraged undergraduates to apply their theoretical knowledge learnt in educational institutions of higher learning to the corporate world.
