TAR College received the Platinum Status Award recently from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The prestigious Platinum award was conferred to TAR College for its accounting students' performance which consistently exceeds worldwide pass rates, its supportive faculty, and teaching-learning resources and facilities. The Platinum award continues to put TAR College within the top 5% of ACCA tuition providers worldwide.
ACCA President Mrs Gillian Ball congratulated TAR College for passing its stringent assessment in achieving the highest level of accreditation that ACCA grants to its Approved Learning Partners. The new Platinum award is a continuation of the Premier Plus Award that the College has been holding since 2005.
Ball said that ACCA is indeed proud to be associated with a partner as committed as TAR College in providing quality education to all. She was in KL on August 13, 2007 to present to TAR College Principal Ms Yoong Lai Thye a memento commemorating the College's 20 years of excellence as a partner in conducting ACCA's Internally Assessed programme.
“The Internally Assessed programme offered by TAR College since 1987 testifies to the world-class standard that is consistently delivered by the College,” Ball said. “The achievement of successfully running this programme for 20 years is indeed no small feat. TAR College continuously demonstrates that they are able to meet or even surpass ACCA’s stringent requirements to run the programme.” |

“TAR College is the only institution outside of United Kingdom and Ireland that is accorded the privilege to conduct the ACCA Internally Assessed programme in conjunction with the Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting) course,” said Yoong. “The new Platinum award further reflects the success and strength of this internally assessed programme not just merely by time but by the wholesome education philosophy that the programme advocates.” The Internally Assessed programme at TAR College offers the benefits of more innovative learning and assessment methods, the adoption of the latest accounting developments both locally and internationally, and the incorporation of soft skills development in the coursework, all of which cannot be obtained directly from the external examinations. Students joining TAR College to pursue accountancy courses enjoy an all round educational experience that includes projects, assignments, learning of IT skills and mastering of presentation and communication skills. These proficiencies, coupled with opportunities to participate in student societies, clubs and the availability of numerous sports and recreational facilities, ensure that the accountants produced by the College are not merely numbers-crunching experts but well rounded individuals. All these facts point to only one thing, that TAR College is one of the best institutions in the world where an aspiring accountant seeking a well-rounded education should enrol in. Looking forward into the future, everyone is positive that TAR College will continue to uphold its prestigious status and contribute to the nation in moulding future leaders out of more young Malaysians. |
