The Hindu Society students at the Pahang Branch Campus organized a stunning and eye-catching fund-raising event. The main objective of organizing this annual event was to raise funds for their upcoming activities. This year's event carried the theme "Give Yourself a Break & Enjoy". All the members of the society showcased their talents and creativity, and the highlights of the event were saree tying and henna drawing.
Students especially those from other races were encouraged to take part and experience wearing Indian outfits such as the saree, lenga, punjabi suits and jippa. Students were all dressed up to the nines, complete with a set of costume jewellery. After dressing up, students were photographed in the Indian outfits so that they may have fond memories of wearing such special outfits. Henna drawing was also a hit among the students. This beautiful and intricate work of art was painstakingly drawn onto the palm of the hand using a colourful dye.
The event received overwhelming response from TAR College students. It was also a great event that provided a platform for all students to mingle around and to have better understanding of the differences in culture, customs and beliefs of another race. On top of that, it was hoped that it would further build on the excellent ethnic relations and unity that we have among all Malaysians in conjunction with the 50-year Merdeka celebration. |
