|
On July 28,
TAR College Perak Branch Campus was the focus of attention when VIPs
such as Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Ting, Chairman of Tunku Abdul Rahman
College Council and Minister of Housing and Local Government, accompanied
by Tan Seri Dato’ Hew See Tong, Kampar Member of Parliament,
with council members Tan Sri Dato’ Lau Yin Pin, Dato’
Ong Ka Chuan, and Ms Yoong Lai Thye, College Principal converged at
Kampar for the official opening of the Perak Branch Campus Phase II
buildings.
To liven up the launching, many performances from staff and students
were organized. The Chinese Orchestra comprising 30 talented musicians,
who are College students, presented music pieces such as “Lenggang
Kangkung”, “Nan Er Dang Zhi Qiang”, “Oh! Carol”
and “Wau Bulan”. This performance was followed by a dance
by College students and two songs entitled “Sejahtera Malaysia”
and “Rasa Sayang” presented by the staff of Perak Branch
Campus. To add spice to the already lively day, Bel Canto,
the champion of the Group Singing Category Talent Time Night Contest
2006, belted out “Prayer” and “A Whole New
World”. Not to be outdone, Chin Lai Li, the champion of the
Instrumental Category, presented a famous classical piece entitled
“Prelude in C# Minor” by Rachmaninoff, the famous Russian
composer.
As the saying goes, “A picture speaks a thousand words”.
So, what better way to depict Perak Branch Campus’s development
by showing a specially prepared video before the official opening
ceremony by Dato’ Seri Ong. Later on, Dato’ Seri Ong and
Tan Sri Dato’ Hew See Tong, who donated the land which the Branch
Campus stands on were presented with baskets of pastries specially
prepared by staff and students of the Campus. |
