TAR College hosts a dinner for LJMU Staff

Dr Tan Chik Heok, Principal for TAR College hosted a Chinese course dinner for LJMU staff at the Flower Drum restaurant on 7 March 2009. This was held in conjunction with the LJMU team visit to Kuala Lumpur for the 8th Convocation.

After much hard work in preparing for the Convocation and having discussions on the collaboration, the dinner event was an informal gathering for both LJMU and TARC staff members to relax, reflect and re-connect through exchange of views and ideas.
The heavy rain on that night did not dampen anyone’s spirit and it was a happy night of smiles, lively conversations, and good delicious food. It was also a hilarious time too, as some of LJMU staff were spotted trying to use the chopsticks at the dinner tables with the help of their Malaysian counterparts …showing that learning among academics also takes place outside the lecture halls! And this value reflects well on our LJMU–TARC collaboration which has benefited 2,900 students in gaining a UK education.
