“The lecturers in TAR College are experienced and dedicated. They are always willing to lend a helping hand to students who encounter difficulties in their studies. Their teaching skills have significantly helped me improve my problem solving skills,” said the lass who intend to further her studies in food science and nutrition. “I want to invent lots of healthy food and create my own brand. I also would like to help raise the public awareness on the importance of maintaining a healthy diet,” she added.
The College also celebrated a commendable feat during the release of the 2008 STPM examination results in March this year, where a total of 24 students scored 2As and above in the examination. Science stream student Elaine Ngiam Yee Ling did the College proud as she emerged as one of the 13 top scorers in Malaysia with her enviable 5As result. She joined the TAR College hall of fame along with her senior Carolyn Koay Phaik Imm, who was one of the 15 top scorers in Malaysia who scored 5As in the 2007 STPM Science examination.
Elaine attributed her success to the excellent guidance from her lecturers as well as support from family and friends. “The teaching here at TAR College that emphasizes on practical training was really helpful. Besides that, I’m also very grateful to the dedicated lecturers who were always there for us. They even sacrificed their Saturdays to meet up with us for consultation!” said the confident lass who plans to apply to read pharmacy at National University of Singapore.
