2nd Runners-up in the IVAQ 2009 – Nicole Woon Fong Yee (AFA1), Yong Cheow Ling (AFA1), Lai Yen Ling (AFA2) and Chan Tsu Chong (AFA1).
Two teams from TAR College School of Business blitz through the preliminaries of the 8th Intervarsity Accounting Quiz (IVAQ) to clinch places in the semi finals. One of the teams (TARC 1) made its way to the Finals and was eventually crowned as the second runner–up.

In the individual event, the College had one representative in the finals, Chan Tsu Chong who lost after putting up a good fight against his counterparts from other competing teams. “It is not about winning or losing but rather the experience gained in the process of achieving a goal is what I treasure most”, said the lad who plans to go to Sheffield Hallam University for his Honours Degree Programme.
The objective of this Quiz, organized by Multimedia University, was to test the participant’s understanding, application and implementation of accounting knowledge. The co–organisers were the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and professional bodies like PricewaterhouseCoopers. A total of 38 teams from 19 institutions participated in this competition.
The TAR College team was accompanied by two very supportive lecturers, Ms Geh Wan Siang and Mr Soo Kee Heng who sacrificed their weekend to provide guidance and moral support.
The participation was a rewarding experience for both students and lecturers as it enriched their learning experience, fostered bonds and teamwork.
