TAR College Staff Go East
In March this year, a team of TAR College staff received overwhelming response in the “Land Below the Wind” and “Land of the Hornbill” at the FACON education fairs.

The team also visited a few secondary schools to disseminate information to the respective principals of the schools who, in turn, charmed the team with their warm East Malaysian hospitality.

It was a whirlwind trip across Sabah starting from Tawau, and thereafter to Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan. In Sarawak, the roadshow took the team to Bintulu, Miri, Kuching, Sibu, Bintangor and Sarikei.

The trip was made even more meaningful as many East Malaysian alumni turned up to lend support and encouragement. It was also heartening to learn that they have made great strides since graduating and most of them are already bosses of their own firms.

Overall it was quite hectic but rewarding as we managed to explain to many students and parents about the varied courses the College offered. The bonus of this trip is that we got to sample different kinds of local cuisine such as Sarawak Laksa, “Kampua” Mee and “Kuolo” Mee (the famous local noodles),” enthused Mr Aaron Chan, one of the team members.

Such roadshows are certainly beneficial as the TAR College name which is a household name in the peninsular will soon become well known in East Malaysia especially in Sarawak where the College does not have a branch campus.
