Innovation and creativity in today’s business world means coming up with new and unique ideas which have commercial value to generate business and make money. With intense competition in the marketplace, companies need breakthrough ideas for survival. As the saying goes, “Innovate or Die”.

Mr Harminder Dhillon, a Strategic Corporate and Legal Director with British Telecom PLC, shared with the public insights on how innovation and creativity could help entrepreneurs and business people achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. The talk held on 22 March 2007 at TAR College KL Learning Centre in Kuala Lumpur was indeed an eye-opening and inspirational session as many newly patented innovations and inventions were shown during the one-hour talk.

New products can be created by adding new features or removing certain features from an existing product, said the speaker. The innovation would be deemed better if it is lower in cost and customized to the client’s need. There is no such thing as a bad idea.
