The conductor getting the musicians ready for the next piece. |

The night of 27 June was certainly a night to remember as the audience in DKA was entertained to a whole musical imagery of Chinese traditional and instrumental music. There were signature pieces, such as “Horse Racing” and “Rose” or in Mandarin, it is “Sai Ma” and “Song Wo Yi Duo Mei Gui Hua” as translated literally, among the songs that were being played.
The orchestra ensemble consisted of students who mostly had no previous experience playing the instruments. They were given a year to master the parts they had to play and to perform on stage. With the sheer experience of the conductor, Quah Ching Loong as well as the wonderfully orchestrated playing of the |

“I find the Chinese Orchestra unique simply because you get to play together to make beautiful music in telling a story”, said Tan Yi Han, a Diploma Year 2, Mechanical Engineering & Manufacturing student who is also the organizing chairman for the concert.
Such musical endeavour certainly bring out the cultural flavour of the College that represents part of the “One Malaysia” concept that is so often popularized.
