| For almost three
decades, TAR College and Campbell University have forged a unique
and resilient partnership in an effort to reach out and offer young
Malaysians an opportunity to pursue locally a BS Degree from the USA.
Since then, the esteemed collaboration has shaped the future of more
than 11,000 bright graduates who are now contributing positively to
the development of our nation. Thus, it couldn’t be more timely
when Dr Jerry Wallace, President of Campbell University, Dr Dwaine
Greene, Vice President for Academy Affairs and Provost, and Dr Mark
Hammond, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, flew over 9,000
miles across continents and arrived at TAR College Main Campus in
Kuala Lumpur to officiate the Campbell University Convocation Ceremony
held on 16 June 2007. |

Later that evening, the two
institutions further extended their partnership and collaboration
by signing a Memorandum of Understanding, witnessed by Dato’
Seri Ong Ka Ting, the College Council Chairman. After the signing
and exchange of documents, they were treated to a sumptuous dinner
courtesy of the School of Arts and Science (SAS) Alumni Society. The
guests were entertained with a variety of performances including beautiful
instrumental pieces by the Chinese Orchestra, choir recital, ballroom
dancing that got everyone tapping their feet, melodious singing and
synchronized aquatic show by our own talented TARCians. The SAS Alumni
Homecoming was attended by close to 200 ex-students.
During the dinner, Dr Jerry Wallace was full of praise for the College.
He was extremely satisfied with the

Campbell Degree Programme conducted in
the College, which, according to him is actually on par with what
is offered back at Campbell University in North Carolina, USA. Dato’
Seri Ong, in his speech, cited that praises from an established institution
of higher learning such as Campbell University again reaffirmed the
high standards and quality of the Campbell Degree Programme conducted
here in TAR College. He also assured that the College would continue
to strengthen the ties between the two institutions by having more
collaborations in the future and supply the nation with a pool of
highly versatile and knowledgeable graduates from the Campbell University
Degree Programme. |
