Great Upsurge
in the May Intake
|
Expect to see
more unfamiliar faces on campus this year as TAR College registered
an upsurge in the number of new students in the May 2006 Intake. The
number of students recruited exceeded the initial projection, with
an increase of 18% compared to the May 2005 Intake. At the KL Main
Campus, the Diploma and Certificate courses in both Hotel Management
and Tourism reached the maximum capacity in student number even though
it was the first time the courses were conducted in the Main Campus.
This impressive intake speaks much of our trademark “Quality
and Affordable Education” which continues to attract many
school leavers to make TAR College the College of choice. In addition,
the other pull factor can be attributed to the College’s effort
in making sure that its programme curricula are constantly being updated
to reflect the current and emerging expectations of the job market.
This year, TAR College introduced two new Diploma courses: Diploma
in Business Studies (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) and Diploma
in Sport and Exercise Science. Four other new courses are the Advanced
Diploma in Business Studies (International Business), Advanced Diploma
in Fashion Design, Advanced Diploma in Multimedia Design and Certificate
in Fashion Design. |
| Not just
more students, but more high achievers! |
| In tandem with
the increase in enrolment, the number of scholarship holders has also
reached an all-time high with 1,715 recipients for the TAR College
Merit Scholarship and 19 recipients for the Star Education Fund Scholarship.
When |
interviewed, Ng Loon Ping,
a scholarship holder with 12As in his SPM, said: “While
I was still in secondary school, I was already impressed with what
TAR College has to offer. Once I got my SPM results, I applied to
TAR College and was offered a scholarship automatically. I chose TAR
College for its beautiful campus with lush greenery and comprehensive
facilities such as the Sports Complex, Clubhouse, College Hall and
the Olympic-sized swimming pool. Also, the College is known for producing
graduates who went on to become prominent and successful individuals.”
With such confidence in the quality of its education, TAR College
can look forward to attract many more high achievers in the years
to come.
