The ACCA-TARC Annual Conference 2006
The ACCA-TARC Annual Conference this year carries the motto “be wise, be just, be right”. Students can go beyond their dreams with the ACCA qualification with the right attitude and the right set of values. Ms Yoong Lai Thye, the College Principal stresses that it is important to uphold good values when working in the accounting profession. “Even if it means resigning from a company with corrupt accounting practices despite being well rewarded financially, so be it,” she says. This ACCA-TARC jointly organized conference also serves as a platform for students to gain insight into the ACCA programme, and to prepare TAR College students for the challenges in the working world.
Activities such as this conference are organized for the benefit of the accounting students and as aptly put by Ms Geh Wan Siang, Programme Supervisor in Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting), “Students will get to know their strength and weaknesses better by joining various types of ACCA activities and better equip themselves for the future working battlefield.”
