TAR College Strengthens Partnership with US University

In November this year, a delegation from TAR College comprising Dr Ng Swee Chin, Head of the School of Arts and Science, Dr Loke Chui Fung, Division Head of Chemistry and Biology, and Mr Chan Fung Lin, the Division Head of Microelectronics and Physics paid a visit to Campbell’s Buies Creek campus.

The group met with Campbell University Provost Dr Dwaine Greene and Dr Mark Hammond, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, to discuss the upcoming reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Campbell University has been involved in a collaborative programme with Tunku Abdul Rahman College since 1979.  The purpose of the programme is to provide a Bachelor   of   Science  degree for TAR College students

pursuing the Advanced Diploma in Science programme. Over 11,975 TAR College students have received the Bachelor of Science degrees since the graduation of the first batch of students in 1981.

“We are thrilled to host our Malaysian guests and colleagues. Campbell University has been blessed for many years with dedicated partners at Tunku Abdul Rahman College. Jointly, we are truly preparing students for leadership positions and purposeful lives around the world”, stated Campbell president Jerry Wallace.

Dr Ng also responded by saying that Campbell University has always been an excellent partner in providing quality Bachelor of Science Degree to Malaysian students at TAR College.  Apart from the collaborative programme, we are now working towards closer collaborations in other areas such as study abroad opportunities and collaborating at greater heights.

This programme has innovatively opened up the opportunity for TAR College students to obtain an overseas qualification at an affordable cost without having to leave the Malaysian shore.
