The 12th of November 2008 was an exceptionally memorable morning for the Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Business Management) cum ICSA students as they have the honorable guests, ICSA International President, Mr Chris Kane and Mr Roger Dickinson, Chief Executive visiting the College.
The CEO, Mr Roger Dickinson took the opportunity to share with the students the evolving roles and responsibilities of chartered secretaries who were the key players in promoting sound governance in organizations and also the importance of whistle blowing due to the collapses of many large corporations such as Enron. After the talk, two students, Chan Ki Keat and Ho Jia Yi strongly agreed that the talks have cleared their doubts and also inspired them to become company secretaries in the future. They said, “Our doubts on the prospects have been clarified and this enhances our confidence and determination of being a chartered secretary in the future.”
Another student, Chong Siew Mei said “I am impressed on how versatile a chartered secretary can be and I feel glad that I have chosen this course.”
The ICSA programme conducted at TAR College is unique as upon completion of the Advanced Diploma programme, the students need only sit for the final four papers under the Professional Part 2 of ICSA similar to that of many other recognized degree awards. |
