Lim Wei Chih, a Year One student of the Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting) did the College proud by achieving a “double” win; clinching the Top Prize of RM 2,300 cash and winning the ‘Most Creative’ Presentation in an inter-varsity competition based on simulated tax case studies organized by Deloitte; a reputable international tax management consultancy group.
The Competition was set in stages and our student breezed through the initial stages where he answered multiple choice questions and did a presentation on “Badges of Trade” in the taxation topic. He was picked as one of top 5 finalists selected for the final competition.

Lim Wei Chih recalled the unforgettable moments in the final event..
“For the actual competition, we were given 2 hours to finish a report and prepare our presentation slides. It was quite a rush to finish both report and slides in such a short time. Then, each participant was given 15 minutes to present and I was being drawn to be the 2nd presenter. At the end of my presentation, I was grilled by the judges and after that, I was just relieved that everything was over.”
When being interviewed after the win, a beaming and happy Lim Wei Chih thanked his lecturers Mr Michael, Mr Chong and Ms Geh for their support and encouragement. He added “To succeed in a competition, I believe that the most important thing is to believe in one’s own abilities and not to be fazed by the obstacles along the way”. This is a sound piece of advice for our students and indeed, has helped Wei Chih to secure the bonus of a double win.
We congratulate Lim Wei Chih on his achievements and for putting our College on the victory map.
